Overview
AITrader ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our mobile app, or otherwise use our services. It applies to all of them.
Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect includes:
- Personal Data: Personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and telephone number, that you voluntarily give to us when you register with our website or when you choose to participate in various activities related to our website.
- Derivative Data: Information our servers automatically collect when you access our website, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and the pages you have viewed.
- Financial Data: Information about the portfolios you follow and the holdings you record, including the securities you tell us you hold, the investment amount you enter, the buy and sell steps the app produces from the model you follow, and which of those steps have been placed, whether you marked them yourself or approved them for placement. You can enter all of this yourself. Connecting a brokerage account is optional, and if you do connect one we also receive balances and positions from that brokerage, as described in Brokerage Connection below.
- Payment Data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects your payment method details (such as card number, brand, and expiration date) in order to process the transaction. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers ourselves.
- Device Data: If you enable notifications in our mobile app, we store a push notification token for each device, together with the platform (for example iOS) and when the device was last seen, so that we can deliver alerts you have asked for.
- Account Data: Information associated with your account, including preferences, subscription status, usage history within our platform, and (when you sign in) coarse device type and limited browser metadata we store to support your account and improve security.
Brokerage Connection
Connecting a brokerage account is optional and happens only when you start it in our mobile app. If you do not connect one, nothing in this section applies to you, and you can keep entering your holdings yourself.
Who handles the connection. We use SnapTrade, a service operated by Passiv Inc, to connect to your brokerage. You sign in to your brokerage inside SnapTrade's connection window or on your brokerage's own site. Your brokerage username, password, and any security codes go to SnapTrade and your brokerage. We never receive them and never store them. What we store is a connection token that lets us ask SnapTrade for your data. Their privacy policy is at snaptrade.com/privacy-policy.
What we receive. The name of the institution, the account name, the last four characters of the account number (we mask the rest before we store it, and if the account name contains the number we mask it there too), the account currency and cash balance, and the positions held in the account: symbol, number of units, price, and market value. From the rest of what SnapTrade returns we keep only the account type, status, category, and whether it is a paper account; we do not keep the raw responses or the identifiers your brokerage uses. We request this when you connect and when you ask the app to refresh, not continuously. We do not request your statements, your transfers, or your transaction history.
The connection we request. If order placement is not enabled for your account, we ask for read access only: it lets us read balances and positions, and it does not allow orders. If order placement is enabled for your account, we ask for a connection that also allows orders on brokerages that support them, as described under Placing orders below. Neither connection lets us move money or transfer securities out of your account, and we never hold your money or your securities.
How long we keep it. We keep the account and position data for as long as the connection exists, and each refresh replaces the previous positions for that account. You can disconnect at any time in the app, under Account then Brokerage. Disconnecting removes the connection at SnapTrade and deletes the accounts and positions we stored for it. The identifier that links your account to SnapTrade is kept so that you can reconnect later without registering again, and it is deleted when you delete your account.
Deleting your account. Before we delete your account, we ask SnapTrade to delete the user record they hold. The deletion then removes every table that holds your data, including brokerage connections, accounts, positions, and the connection token. Any data SnapTrade or your brokerage keeps after that is governed by their own policies.
Placing orders. Placing orders from inside the app is optional. It applies only if you connect a brokerage account and we have enabled order placement for your account, and during the beta it is available to a limited group we enable individually. It also depends on your brokerage: some brokerages accept orders through this connection and some are read only. The buy and sell steps stay a checklist you can carry out yourself at your brokerage, and that path remains available whether or not order placement is enabled for you.
You approve what is sent. Before anything goes to your brokerage, the app lists every order it is about to send, with the symbol, whether it is a buy or a sell, and the number of shares. Nothing is sent until you confirm. You confirm the list as a whole rather than order by order, and the quantities are re-checked at the moment you confirm: if any of them have changed, nothing is sent and the list goes back to being one you carry out yourself. If part of a list is sent and a later order fails, the app tells you which orders went through and does not send those again.
Who executes them. We send each order you approve to your brokerage through SnapTrade. Your brokerage decides whether to accept it and executes it. We do not execute orders, we never hold your money or your securities, and we do not send orders you have not approved.
What we record. For each order we send we keep the checklist row it came from, which holds the symbol, whether it is a buy or a sell, the dollar amount, and the time the order was sent, along with a matching entry in the record we use to value the portfolio you follow. We do not store the confirmation your brokerage returns, so the status, execution price, and fills of an order live with your brokerage rather than with us.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activities. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help us improve your experience, remember your preferences, and understand how you use our website.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our website and your ability to use certain features.
Product Analytics and Session Recording
We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how the platform is used. Data is processed in the United States.
What we send. Product analytics records which pages you visit and a fixed, published list of interactions (for example: an onboarding step was viewed, a portfolio was followed). Event properties are limited to counts, yes/no values, and fixed categories.
What we never send. We do not send portfolio values, cost basis, investment amounts, holdings, stock symbols you hold, returns, brokerage balances, your email address, or your name to our analytics provider. Web addresses are stripped before they are sent: we keep standard campaign parameters and discard everything else, including authentication codes and one-click unsubscribe tokens.
Session recording. For a limited group of early-access users, we record a playback of on-screen interaction to find usability problems. Recording is off unless it has been enabled for your account. In any recording, all on-screen text is masked and all images, charts, and other media are replaced with blank placeholders, so account figures are not legible in the playback. Sign-in and password pages are never recorded.
We identify your activity using an internal account identifier only. If you would prefer not to be included in analytics or session recording, contact us using the details below.
Third-Party Services
Our website and mobile app may contain links to third-party websites or integrate third-party services (e.g., authentication providers, analytics, payment processors, and the push notification services operated by Expo and by your device's platform, which deliver the alerts you enable). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through our platform.
Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When we no longer need your information, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our services, you consent to the transfer of your information to our facilities and to those third parties with whom we share it as described in this policy.

California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise these rights, please contact us.
Policy for Children
